Play a prank - My shortcuts dont work
What happens if you open your favorite program shorcut on the desktop and you receive a crazy message and your PC shuts down.
OK! It's not at all cool when you are at the receiving end; but when you are responsible for administering the prank, it can be so so GREAT. So we'll start by identifying the program that our target runs most frequently. I like using VLC or mozilla firefox. Most people run these programs very often.
So we take the shortcut of one of these programs (or any other shortcut).
1. Right click on the shortcut icon and click properties.
2. In the dialog that appears, click on the shorcut tab.
3. In the text field labeled target, type in the bolded text below:
shutdown -r -t 20 -c "Dumb heads don't use VLC"
Just remember to change the dumb heads stuff to any crazy message.
You can also change the 20 to any number. It shows the time (in seconds) before the computer shuts down. It should be big enough for your message to be seen, but not too big to give time to abort shutdown.
4. In the field named Run, change the value to Minimized window.
5. Click apply, then OK.
The next time the program is executed, the computer will shutdown with your message shown.
